DUTY JUDGE Jose Castro has ordered imprisonment without bail for the husband of murdered British woman Jane Lyttle.

After calling emergency services to report his wife´s death, Mallorca resident Warren Lyttle confessed to strangling her at their home in the south west of the island, in what now appears to be a sex game gone wrong. Both parties were alleged to be drunk at the time.

Since his arrest on January 23, Mr Lyttle has been held in custody where he is said to have refused any food and drink. However, a forensic doctor later confirmed the British man´s ability to testify and he appeared in court on January 24.

Mr Lyttle is reported to have a criminal record which includes as many as 40 arrests for domestic violence. He is said to have served 14 terms in prison. His mother Joan expressed utter shock at her son´s actions, claiming ´There were no problems in the marriage as far as we knew. They were happy.´

Locals have observed a five-minute silence at Calvia Town Hall and a public demonstration will be held for victims of domestic violence.
