JOSEP FEMENIA, mayor of Benitachell, confirmed the town’s commitment to sports and health tourism.
Benitachell marked the exciting end of one stage of the 2015 Vuelta a España with a gruelling climb to the top of Puig Llorenca.
“We are a great little town with a powerful and healthy tourist image,” Femenia told an interviewer during a promotional video that will be shown at this year’s Fitur trade fair in Madrid.
“We can also offer hiking, skin-diving, trekking and cycling. And as a tourist town we are endorsed by the fact that a visitor who comes here once always returns. That’s a sign that we’re doing things well,” the mayor said.
