IN an effort to increase the number of German visitors to Almeria, an agreement was signed by the Almeria Provincial Council and the Tourism department of the Junta de Andalucia on February 1, which will include specific actions in order to strengthen the number of visitors coming from Germany.

This is not the only initiative to be undertaken to generally promote Almeria as a tourist destination, but the focus on Germany is considered to be important for the economy of the area.

Javier Aureliano Garcia of the Almeria Council stressed the importance of an agreement, which includes specific actions and said that: “The Provincial Tourism Service spends more than two million euros to consolidate and publicise the brand ‘Costa de Almeria’,” but that the contribution of the Government of Andalucia will help considerably to expand the promotion.

Among the activities to be covered by the agreement to promote the brand ‘Costa de Almeria’, will be attendance at important tourism fairs, promotion campaigns nationally and internationally, as well as special familiarisation or press trips.

If the government of Almeria really wanted to encourage tourism here it would make sure that there were flights into Almeria the situation at present is dire for uk visitors unless they live in London or Manchester
I have to fly into Malaga usually so that region gets the benefit of hotel stays etc
