As temperatures continue to plummet nationwide, Axarquia and the Sierra de las Nieves were blanketed in snow on the morning of February 16.
Taking to the streets in winter woollies, residents in Andalucian towns Alfarnate and Alfarnatejo embraced the close-to-zero temperatures and more than 10 centimetres of snow, while in the Sierra de la Nieves, keen hikers were seen admiring the dramatically altered landscape from the Torrecilla´s peak.
A yellow weather warning for high winds remains in place across the region, with the Guadalhorce valley, the Costa del Sol, Ronda and Axarquia among those worst affected.
