NISSAN has disabled one of its own apps as it could have been used to hack its Leaf electric cars. Although it has known for some weeks about the flaw in the software, which could have allowed a hacker to run down the battery and review details of recent journeys, the company did not consider this a serious problem, but took action once news of the glitch was posted on social media.
