EX-ENGLAND footballer Adam Johnson has been found guilty of one count of sexual activity with a child. He showed no emotion as the verdict was read out. The jury at Bradford Crown Court have found Johnson guilty of ´touching´ however he was found not guilty in relation to other sexual acts.

The ex-Sunderland player now faces up to five years in jail after he had already admitted to grooming the girl and another charge of sexual misconduct. Judge Jonathan Rose advised that the sentencing should be in the range of four to 10 years in prison and five years would be likely.

He said: “The defendant must understand there is a very high probability of a significant custodial sentence.”

28-year-old Johnson has been granted bail until sentencing takes place in two to three weeks’ time. The incident took place in the footballer´s Range Rover on January 30 last year.

The court was told that the former winger touched the girl inappropriately and she performed an oral sex act on him, the latter of which he has now been cleared.

On the first day of the trial, Sunderland immediately sacked Johnson after he admitted kissing the girl.
