EVERY year Forbes magazine produces its list of the richest people in the world and according to them, Amancio Ortega, owner of Inditex which includes the Zara Group, is the second richest man in the world with a personal fortune estimated at just under €61 billion.
€68 billion is the estimated value of the worth of Bill Gates of Microsoft according to Fortune Magazine.
He is now catching up with the richest man, Bill Gates of Microsoft.
There is then a very long space between the number two spot and number 178, the next richest person in Spain, his daughter Sandra Ortega Mera who can boast just €5.9 billion.
It is interesting to note that the bulk of the wealthiest men in the world come from the USA, but China and India are beginning to spawn more billionaires.
