LOS GENOVESES beach in the Cabo de Gata-Nijar natural park is becoming a firm fixture on the best beaches lists. This time it has been included in one of the best places in Spain to windsurf drawn up by weather website eltiempo.es.

“One could say that the coast of Almeria is beaten only by Tarifa in Cadiz as the best place for sports such as windsurfing,” the site states.

The beach is certainly no stranger to this type of ranking or competition, in fact last year it won an online competition run by Antena 3 national media group, with a total of 46,764 votes, well ahead of Matalascañas in Huelva which took second place with 25,128.

This year another Spanish media group, Telecinco, has launched its own best beach competition and there are two Almeria beaches in the running: the aforementioned Los Genoveses and Playa de Los Muertos in Carboneras.
