CAN PASTILLA: The couple were apparently on holiday here.

NATIONAL POLICE officers are investigating the death of a 61-year-old Norwegian woman who was holidaying in Mallorca.

Her bloodied body was discovered shortly before noon on Monday May 30, inside a first-floor apartment she was renting in the Can Pastilla district of Palma de Mallorca.

According to police, there were lesions on her forearms and broken glass on the floor, leading them to initially suspect suicide, but they have not ruled out foul play and are now awaiting the results of an autopsy.

According to other tourists staying in the building, the woman and her partner apparently had a heated argument the evening before she lost her life, leading him to disappear, and agents are now searching for him armed with photographs they recovered from the flat.

Investigators believe the woman died sometime between Sunday night and early Monday morning, and have now identified her after encountering difficulties because the accommodation was booked under a different name.
