NO BLOOD: Sa Pobla has now joined the list of municipalities against bullfighting on the island.
SA POBLA has become the 34th municipality on the island to declare itself to be against bullfighting.
According to the group Anuma Naturalis, the Sa Pobla Town Hall approved a motion against bullfighting joining the other 33 municipalities which have declared themselves to be anti-bullfighting.
Guillermo Amengual, spokesman for the Mallorca Sense Sang campaign (Mallorca Without Blood), said that each day more municipalities on the island are rejecting torture and death for pleasure.
He added that with the addition of Sa Pobla to the list of anti-bullfighting municipalities, “a historic figure” has been reached. The Mallorca Sense Sang campaign has changed history with 34 municipalities now against the sport in just two years and more than 350,000 signatures on a petition asking for bullfighting on the island to be banned.
The campaign was started in 2014 with the objective of prohibiting bullfighting in Mallorca.
