fibre optics: Giving access to high speed internet connections.
THIS month work begins to bring fibre optics to Albox with 90 per cent of the population expected to have access to high speed internet connections by the end of 2016, the council has announced.
New cable networks are being prepared which will provide 3,842 local homes and businesses with the latest in technology allowing them to use the internet at speeds of up to 300 megabytes.
The fibre optics will be installed by Movistar telecommunications company, and mean home users will be able to watch TV, play online games and browse websites with ease while companies will benefit from better security and efficiency in their online dealings, the company has promised.
Local Mayor Sonia Cerdan said “we thank Movistar for its implication in helping bring the best internet technology to the people and businesses of Albox and promise to collaborate with the project however we can to make it a reality as soon as possible.”
