Diversity flag flying in Gibraltar.
GIBRALTAR joined in with the international expressions of regret following the massacre of 49 people at the gay nightclub Pulse in Orlando, Florida in the early morning of June 12 by Omar Mateen, who declared himself a representative of Daesh but may in fact have been gay himself.
Regardless of this maniac’s reasons, the Moorish Castle was lit in the colours of the rainbow on Monday night in memory of those killed in the shooting, and the Equality Rights Group’s diversity flag was also flown on Tuesday at half mast over Number Six Convent Place.
Chief Minister Fabian Picardo tweeted an image of the lit Moorish Castle with the heading ‘for the murder victims of #Orlando #LoveIsLove #Solidarity’ and indicated that this act of solidarity would be repeated on Tuesday.
