The overturned truck at La Cala.

THERE were no less than three major accidents during the day on June 20 on the A7, which caused enormous tailbacks for traffic trying to get from Malaga to Marbella.

The accident occurred near Elviria at around 7.30am, which resulted in a tailback to Calahonda then the second occurred when three vehicles in that queue hit each other, causing yet another tailback to La Cala de Mijas and one person was injured.

Finally, that evening at about 6pm, a large container lorry toppled over at the bend prior to La Cala de Mijas just before Olivia’s, according to one witness making a noise similar to a jet taking off and causing additional long tailbacks.

Emergency services, including police and an ambulance, were quick to attend the scene and by the following morning, all signs of the accident had been removed.
