Smuggled cigarettes seized in Cordoba

FOLLOWING a huge seizure of illegal tobacco in Cordoba and the arrest of five people who were part of an organised gang last month, the National Police have been continuing their investigations in that city.

This time, they concentrated on small shops and kiosks and seized 820 cartons of smuggled cigarettes and arrested further individuals who will be charged and no doubt fined for the improper importation of the cigarettes, in breach of tax law 12/95, whereby payment of tax was evaded.
