YOUNG MURPHY: He’s quite a demanding dog.
WHEN his family are away Murphy struggles because he misses them. He’s a very affectionate, tactile and engaging dog.
He’s smart too, homing in on newcomers, focusing on them until he’s sized them up, circling them, barking occasionally until he’s laid down the law. It’s his initiation. Once he is content he relaxes a little and enjoys the new member of the pack.
After he came to live with the family they realised he was needy. He followed them all over and if someone left the group ge would follow them to try and herd them back into the fold. If they tied him outside a shop he would bark until they returned and became famous in their neighbourhood as ‘Murphy the mouth!’
The day Murphy met Monty the house-sitter there was the usual circling and controlled barking, but then silence and a total acceptance. Monty house-sits when the family go away, he’s a member of the pack and Murphy loves him. The family know he’ll be well looked after and comfortable with Monty.
House-sitting can be win-win for both parties, free house and pet-sitting and experienced and checked sitters get free accommodation! Register now for a 20 per cent off introductory offer using coupon code PER FECT20. To find a pet-sitter go to www.HousesitMatch.com
