Governor makes tour of inspection of HM Customs

THE Governor of Gibraltar His Excellency Lt Gen Edward Davis visited the headquarters of HM Customs as part of his ongoing familiarization exercise.

On arrival he was greeted by the Collector of Customs John Rodriguez who gave him a thorough briefing on the work and activities of the department which was followed by a tour of various sections within HM Customs where he was able to meet a wide cross section of staff and given an insight of the work carried out by them.

The visit ended with a trip on both Customs vessels, HMC Seeker and Searcher where His Excellency had the opportunity to take the helm. The Collector of Customs said: “This was a great opportunity to brief H.E. on the extensive and varied role of Gibraltar Customs and for him to experience this firsthand”.
