The scene has been surrounded by police tape as investigations proceed.
A 30-YEAR-OLD Colombian man was shot and killed and a 27-year-old woman wounded in a residential area of Mijas during the early hours of Friday, August 19.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear, but preliminary reports suggest that a neighbour called the 112 Emergency Service around 4.25am to report that he had heard gunshots.
At least five shots were said to have been fired, with witnesses describing three masked individuals who escaped by car.
An ambulance plus officers from the Local Police and Guardia Civil attended the scene on Calle Romeral in the Calypso urbanisation, Calahonda.
The events took place in an area popular with expats, and bears resemblance to an incident in September 2015, when a Colombian resident in Mijas was shot seven times in an ongoing drugs war between rival cartels.
