Purity

THE US novelist’s superbly satirical fifth novel is a grand old yarn which tells the story of ‘Pip’ Tyler, a young woman with a ridiculous $130,000 in student debt who is squatting with anarchists and has a difficult relationship with her mother, a woman who lives as a recluse under an invented name. As Pip is about to embark on the search for her father, a German flatmate offers to secure her an internship with a WikiLeaks-type organisation, and from there the story really flies.
