NAUTICAL FUN: Children from the Emaus homes enjoying activities at sea.
OVER the summer holidays children from the Emaus homes have been treated to various days out organised by Tony Grande of Make A Smile and hosted by the Real Club Nautico of Calpe. These days included sailing through the bay of Calpe in Tom 28 sailing boats, swimming in the sea and special trips to an ice cream parlour in the Port.
The centre also offers rowing, paddle surfing, kayaking and snorkelling. “The children absolutely loved the sailing” said Ivan, one of the Emaus carers. “The excitement in the homes before and after the outing is a joy to see as the children don’t get many opportunities for this kind of activity.”
Make A Smile would like to thank the expert sailing volunteers who gave up their time to take the children out, their friend Roger and also Pablo Braquehais, president of the non profit Centro Náutico RCN Calpe who made it all possible.
