More bombs found in New Jersey but no injuries recorded

FOLLOWING the explosions in New York and Seaside Park New Jersey, more bombs were found near a railway station in Elizabeth New Jersey in the early morning of Monday September 19.

One of the devices exploded and the matter is explained in the following statement issued by the FBI “There was a suspicious package with multiple improvised explosive devices this evening at the Elizabeth Train Station in New Jersey. Bomb techs from the FBI, Union County, and the New Jersey State Police have arrived on the scene and are now rendering the area safe. In the course of rendering one of the devices safe, it detonated. There are no injuries and law enforcement personnel are at the scene processing evidence.”

According to the Elizabeth mayor, Christian Bollwage the device that exploded was one of five devices found in a backpack inside a rubbish bin near the station and that a robot examining one of the bombs cut a wire by mistake. 

The bag containing the bombs was taken out of the bin by two men who were curious to see what it contained but as soon as they saw the wires and metal pipes they returned it to the bin and rushed to advise the local police.

In New York, five people were stopped in a vehicle in Brooklyn and have been arrested and questioned with regards to the explosion in Chelsea but as yet no charges have been laid against anyone.
