Woman saved from drowning by officers of the National Police

THE National Police press office has just released news that two of its motor cycle officers, having been alerted by an 091 emergency call, drove to the Guadalquivir River by the Barqueta Bridge in Sevilla where they spotted a woman in difficulty in the water.

After removing his belt and weapons, one of the officers dived in to the river and with some difficulty managed to reach the drowning woman and bring her back to the shore. He and his partner removed her from the water to the shore where other officers and the emergency health service had already arrived.

The woman was given treatment at the site of her rescue and was then taken to hospital for further treatment and recovery.
