MURRAY: The title is the 29-year-old Scot´s sixth of the year.
Andy Murray has beaten the Spanish world number 19 Roberto Bautista Agut in straight sets to take his third Shanghai Masters title. The 29-year-old Scot’s sixth title of the year means he has improved his chances of overtaking Serb Novak Djokovic for the chance to finish 2016 as number one in the world rankings. Djokovic was conquered in the semi-finals by the 28-year-old Spaniard who hails from Castellón de la Plana.
Murray found the first set tough going, finally winning 7-6 after taking seven points in a row in the tie-break. He went on to take the second and third sets 7-1, 6-1. Murray´s next challenge is the indoor hard court Vienna Masters which starts on Monday, October 24.
