ROAD SAFETY: An important thing to learn.

CHILDREN at schools in Mijas are to receive road safety lessons from the council in collaboration with the DGT traffic authority.

The main aim of the classes, local Transport councillor Nuria Rodriguez explained, is to educate children from an early age on how to stay safe on the streets. The youngsters are to learn the importance of road signs and basic rules of the roads.

Transport technician Paqui Lavado, who will be giving the lessons, explained they are aimed at sixth year primary school pupils. Children will receive leaflets on road safety along with explanations and will be given a test at the end of the class to see whether they have understood everything.

“We wish to thank the schools for their support as they have welcomed us in with open arms,” Rodriguez said.
