Chief Minister visits London for a number of meetings

THE Chief Minister, the Hon Fabian Picardo QC travelled with Mrs Picardo to London on October 30 so that he could attend a number of functions in London during the forthcoming week.

On Sunday October 31, the couple attended what has become a traditional Gibraltar Day Mass at Our Lady of Dolours Servite church in Fulham after which he hosted a small reception at Fulham Palace, the former residence of the Bishop of London.

The following day the Chief Minister spoke at the Gibraltar Finance Services lunch at the Guildhall which was attended by over 300 members of London’s banking, insurance and financial services community.

During the latter part of the week, Mr Picardo will join other leaders of the Overseas Territories (OTs) at the annual Joint Ministerial Council which sees attendance by representatives of 15 Territories and a large delegation from the Foreign Office including the responsible minister in the first post referendum meeting of the OTs before he returns to the Rock on Saturday November 5.
