Definitely not vague on the question of Gibraltar and Spain

HM Government of Gibraltar

Lord Hague and Fabian Picardo

ON November 2, a few days after meeting Chief Minister Fabian Picardo in London, Lord Hague, the former Foreign Secretary and well known champion of the Rock was interviewed for radio by the Gibraltar Broadcasting Corporation.

During this interview, he made it clear that in his opinion the new Spanish government could use the issue of Gibraltar’s sovereignty to hold the UK hostage towards the end of Brexit negotiations.

He went on to say that it was vital that Theresa May was alert to the fact that Spain or indeed other European States could use their veto to make a planned and negotiated exit difficult at the end of two years of negotiations following the triggering of Article 50.
