THERE is a tradition that the John Lewis Group releases a heart rending Christmas TV advert which sees hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube and brings commercial success to whichever band is chosen to record the soundtrack.
Last year however with its somewhat obscure and rather sad ad featuring the lonely man in the moon the general opinion was that it was inappropriate and not up to the usual standard.
Now just a few days before the group releases the latest advert, which is promised to be a winner, a copycat advert has been released on YouTube, which is the creation of A-level student Nick Jablonka.
The Snow Globe is part of the student’s course work and is reckoned by many to be as good as it comes when compared to the general genre of John Lewis Christmas adverts and has already received more than 500,000 views.
