INCA: Past celebrations.
DIJOUS BO, Mallorca’s biggest market gets underway on November 17 in Inca with more than 200,000 people expected to attend. It’s an enormous affair packed with organic food, delicious produce, animals, music and a fairground.
Even the president is expected to tag along as roughly a fifth of the island’s population swell to the gorgeous town. There will be some 500 stalls with all manner of drinks and delights and around 100 police officers recruited for security.
Parking will be a ‘logistical challenge’ to say the least but the reward of one of Europe’s most fabulous fairs is well worth the effort. There will, however, be special trains and buses running to Inca and you can check for live updates on the official website www.dijousbo.es.
Dijous Bo means ‘Good Thursday’ in Catalan and the fair has its roots in autumn agricultural celebrations, hence the splendid variety of fruit and vegetables on display.
