INTERNATIONAL company Sportradar delivers sports data and content around the globe. They believe that in a world full of controversy sport is the one thing that can unite and connect people and they believe that sport can change lives.

They could not have displayed this sentiment more than at their recent golf event held at La Zagaleta Golf Club which they dedicated to two international charities: Indochina Starfish and Right to Play and one local charity the Butterfly Children Charity DEBRA. The first two charities were personally chosen by Sportradar, the third was suggested by ‘La Zagaleta’ as a worthy cause.

Initially the company pledged to donate €30,000 to each charity however on the night this was increased to an incredible €140,000 (collectively). All three charities were overwhelmed by the generosity but none more than the Butterfly Children Charity whose donation was in fact doubled!

This was thanks to local boy Luis Lima, affected by Butterfly Skin who made a personal appearance to thank the company for their support. The director of Sportradar was so touched by his gratitude that he increased the donation from €30,000 to €60,000!

This substantial donation will make a huge difference to the lives of the Butterfly Children and their families throughout Spain. It will ensure that the charity’s team of nurses, social workers and psychologists can provide them with the expert care and support that the National Health Service fails to give. It is thanks to Sportradar that these families can look towards the future with hope, optimism and energy.
