Marina viewed from Gibraltar.
The body of a 71-year-old identified as Joseph Williams from Dundee was found floating in the Alcaidesa Marina in La Linea de la Concepcion (situated on the Avenida Principe de Asturias) on Sunday November 27 next to his yacht which has been moored in the marina for some time.
According to reports from Scotland and La Linea, he regularly split his time between Spain and Scotland, normally enjoying Spain in the winter and Scotland in the summer.
It would appear that Mr Williams enjoyed a drink or two and had apparently been drinking at a local bar on the Saturday night although it is believed that he returned to the boat without mishap but may have fallen into the marina later in the night or early the following morning.
His body has been sent to Algeciras for an autopsy, but Local Police have revealed that there appears nothing to suggest that his death was caused by any form of criminal activity.
