Singer Manu brings out the crowds in Torrox

FIESTA DE LAS MIGAS: Manu Tenorio was grateful to be part of the festival.

SEVILLIAN singer Manu Tenorio made a brief, but impressionable mark in Torrox.

The singer arrived in the to town to honour its annual Fiesta de las Migas festival. He said he was “very grateful for the affection received” and to be part of a “party so important that is part of the history of this town and its people.”

Despite the cold and rainy weather, it did not detract from the influx of visitors with 35,000-40,000 people arriving from all over Andalucia as Tenorio wandered through the streets greeting people, signing autographs and posing for photos. Torrox Mayor, Oscar Medina (PP) reminded residents the singer will be back in October 2017 with a concert at the Municipal Theatre.

Manu Tenorio has six platinum and one gold records. He was also involved in the first Operacion Triunfo programme which recently celebrated its 15th anniversary.

The programme is a talent show in which contestants aspire to win a recording contract and to represent Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest.
