MASTERCLASS: Alejandra Quereda shows how it’s done.
ALEJANDRA QUEREDA recently gave a gymnastics master class to a group of open-mouthed schoolchildren in Teulada-Moraira.
The decorated rhythmic gymnast, who lives in Alicante City, won an Olympic silver medal in Rio last summer and has twice taken gold in the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships.
The class was organised by Club Llebeig with the collaboration of Teulada-Moraira Council and before arriving at Teulada’s Polideportivo sports complex, Alejandra visited the town hall.
Here she had a chin wag with the town mayor, Carlos Linares, and presented the Club Llebeig president with a t-shirt signed by members of the Spanish Olympic gymnastics team.
More than 50 gymnasts took part in Alejandra’s class, of which the first half comprised a session adapted to their ages and levels. She then gave a lengthy talk after which the lucky participants had the opportunity to ask the champion some questions about her life and career.
