A joint arrest by French and Spanish officers
A WANTED Colombian, identified only as 45-year-old NVH, has been arrested in the south of Paris thanks to an international warrant and the involvement of French police.
This individual was wanted by several Spanish courts as he was a member of a criminal drug trafficking organisation operating in Alicante and Murcia but he fled from Spain in 2009 when it became clear that he was about to be arrested by the Guardia Civil.
The international warrant for his arrest was issued by the court in Orihuela and when it was discovered that he was living in France, officers of the Guardia Civil received permission to travel to Paris to work with the French Central Unit of Investigation to see if the individual could be identified and located.
He was eventually found in Gentilly, south of Paris and was arrested so that the extradition process could be started.
