THE WHITE HOUSE and the Moncloa have confirmed that US President Donald Trump will have a 20-minute phone call with Spanish Prime Minister, Mariano Rajoy, this evening (7 February).
The phone call will be the first between them since Trump took over as President, and is intended to help strengthen ties between the two countries.
Rajoy is expected to encourage the US president to help boost the Spanish and European economies, to tackle inequality and discuss defence measures and the fight against terrorism.
According to government officials, Trump has already expressed his appreciation for Spain and described Barcelona as a “magnificent city”.
