EX-FOOTBALLER David Bentley is set to return to England after three years of sunny retirement in Spain. The former Tottenham and Blackburn Rovers star has been a welcome sight on the Costa del Sol social scene, helping promote the La Sala restaurant chain.
Bentley retired from the game aged just 29, having been earmarked as a future David Beckham during a brief spell in the limelight. He scored a famous hat-trick for Blackburn against Man Utd at Ewood Park in 2006 and won seven caps for England.
It is understood that he’s returning to the UK so his three children can be closer to friends and family. But the star will surely soon be back on the Costa del Sol for business, sun and sea.
