Police at Orly airport

EARLY in the morning of March 18, an individual stopped for a vehicle check in the north of Paris, shot a police officer and fled the scene.

According to French police it transpires, that he then travelled to Orly airport and stole a gun from a soldier in the south terminal and was shot dead as he entered one of the shops in the terminal

The terminal was immediately evacuated and all flights in and out of the airport were suspended in case the dead man was carrying explosives but it appears that this was not the case and there is no immediate explanation for his actions or whether he had any accomplices.
