A BRITISH resident in Denia died after hitting his head in a fall.

He had gone out in the evening to throw away the rubbish after telling his wife that he would probably spend some time with friends and would be back late.

The accident occurred as he parked his car in a steep street near his home in the La Pedrera district on the lower slopes of Montgo. He tripped as he got out of the car and his lifeless body was found some time later by a neighbour who immediately rang the 112 emergency services.

The Policia Nacional officers who answered the call ruled out robbery as they found his wallet and identity documents were untouched in the car and he was still wearing his watch.

Pathologists later confirmed that the Briton had died as a result of hitting his head on the ground.
