Minors prostituted and given as hostages in drug deals in Madrid

A TOTAL of three people have been arrested by the Guardia Civil suspected of human trafficking, drug trafficking, corruption of minors and using false documentation following the discovery of a 14-year-old who was being prostituted in a Madrid club.

It transpired that the girl had been lured away from a juvenile centre in Castilla y Leon by a Romanian who promised that she would be able to work and obtain decent money, but instead, she was forced into prostitution.

Investigating officers discovered that a married couple from Moldova were controlling not only this girl but another 14-year-old and when their property was raided, the girl was released and documentation concerning sale of drugs as well as fake documents was seized.

Having arrested the couple, officers then found and arrested the Romanian and discovered that not only were the girls forced into prostitution but were also used as guarantees for payment of drugs.

They were actually handed over to drug gangs to hold as hostages whilst payment for supplied drugs was awaited and if delayed or not paid, the girls would be kept as payment.

Finally, officers also discovered that the false documents were being produced in Moldova and were being sent to Spain through the post or couriers and were subsequently sold, using the minors to deliver the papers and accept the funds for them.
