DURING checks on farms by officers from Seprona, the Guardia Civil’s nature protection branch, 346 dead goats were discovered.
All of the goats appeared to have died due to starvation whilst a further 36 were found to be in a very poor state of health and were removed from the farm in La Litera, Huesca.
The owner of the farm, a 47-year-old woman, was arrested for suspected animal abuse.
Photographs released of the dead animals are too unpleasant to show here.
