Shadow Foreign Secretary visits the Rock

HAVING been invited to see Gibraltar for herself the Labour shadow foreign secretary has been on a short fact-finding visit to the Rock.

Emily Thornberry MP flew in on Thursday April 27 to meet with the chief minister and was shown around the frontier by the deputy chief minister, Joseph Garcia.

She also met with Unite the union, as well as the GSD Opposition and independent MP Marlene Hassan Nahon.

In an interview with the Gibraltar Broadcasting Corporation, Ms Thornberry said that the Labour party remains “unequivocally committed to protecting the sovereignty of Gibraltar and the right of its people to self-determination.”
