Agronauta Bilbao
A HUGE port construction platform has run aground near Benalmadena.
The 43-metre Agronauta Bilbao is used to make concrete blocks to build maritime structures.
It was reportedly being towed to Cadiz by the Monte da Luz boat using steel cables, which snapped due to the adverse weather conditions, with the platform drifting in the current before grinding to a halt near the Torrequebrada Casino.

It was initially feared the structure would crash into Puerto Marina, Benalmadena, but it was dragged in the opposite direction, eventually running aground near the Flathotel.

The Port Authority say the superstructure is not dangerous, and only has 150 litres of petrol aboard to power its motors with no crew.
Three boats, Monte da Luz, Veintiocho, and Alnitak de Salvamento Maritimo, are currently attempting to wrestle control of the platform and tow it to a safer area.
One Twitter user quipped: “These new bouncy castles are a bit solid on Benalmadena beach aren’t they?”

The Agronauta Bilbao is not the only perculiar thing to wash up onto the Costa del Sol’s beaches this month, as a cow was also recently found washed up on a beach in Fuengirola.
