IGNACIO ECHEVERRIA’S family have confirmed that he died during the London Bridge attack.
The Spaniard was last seen confronting the terrorists with a skateboard according to friends.
His sister Ana announced the news on Facebook saying “Ignacio did not survive the attack.”
“Thank you to everyone who loved and cared for him. We know we are not the only ones saddened.”
The family also thanked the Spanish government and the bank he worked at, HSBC, for their help in searching for Ignacio.
Foreign Minister Alfonso Dastis said “He is, for all of us, a shining example of solidarity.”
“His valour when trying to defend another person serves as a reminder that we all need to stand united and face terrorism,” he added.
