Gunshots heard in La Linea

LOCAL media has reported that the sound of guns was heard in the Los Junquillos area of La Linea de la Concepcion yesterday evening.

After 12 gunshots were recorded, National Police were involved chasing three cars believed to contain people who may have been involved in an altercation between two local families.

Although there has been an increase in violence from armed drug smugglers, it is not thought that this was other than a serious domestic incident and there were no injuries or arrests reported.

La Linea is currently honouring a three day period of mourning for a Local Police officer who was run over and killed by a Police van whilst chasing a tobacco smuggler.
