The inferno that was Grenfell Tower

AN article in the Gibraltar Chronicle has revealed that one of the first firemen to enter the inferno that was Grenfell Tower in Kensington was a Gibraltarian, Russell Gomez.

He was part of a team that helped save a woman on the 21st floor and it is believed that this was the highest rescue of the night.

The fire fighter’s family has a heritage of service in the brigade as his father was in the Gibraltar Fire Brigade.
