The suspected terrorist fighter being detained by National Police

A MAN has been arrested in Malaga for allegedly fighting for the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) for two years in Syria.

According to the Spanish Home Office, the 29-year-old is believed to be in contact with others  who engage in terrorist activities.

Authorities will search through his devices, such as his mobile phone, in order to ascertain whether he is, or has been in contact with known terrorist cells.

The arrest is part of the Guardia Civil’s ongoing anti-radicalisation programme designed to not only catch suspected terrorists, but also to prevent people being sent to war zones to fight for extremists.
