A 19-YEAR-OLD has been arrested after physically assaulting his father outside the provincial police station, Malaga.
According to investigators, the victim had gone to the station to report that his son was mentally ill, and had abused him several times. Plainclothes policemen witnessed the event as they left the premises.
Witnesses state that the accused had thrown a suitcase with “considerable force,” which narrowly missed his father and impacted with a nearby car and then headbutted him, leaving him stunned.
When officers intervened, the accused reportedly became increasingly violent and attempted to punch them.
The assailant was arrested for harming an officer and resisting arrest.
The victim had initially gone to the station to report the accused, but explained that he was unable to do so to his own family. After a change of heart, his son attacked him.
