Car thief crashes into police after high-speed chase in Costa Blanca

NOT GOING ANYWHERE: The thief was finally stopped as officers shot out the wheels of the stolen car he was driving.

LOCAL POLICE officers arrested a thief who led them on a high-speed chase through the streets of Rincon de Loix last Sunday.

The thief, who stole a car in Altea last Saturday night and robbed a house in the same area the following morning was fleeing through Benidorm last Sunday afternoon when officers caught up with him.

Following the dramatic police chase, the police approached the thief who rammed two of the officers off their motorbikes, throwing them to the ground before speeding off.

He was intercepted again as officers shot out the wheels of the stolen car and arrested him at around 2.00pm. The four officers involved were treated for various injuries – both the officers on motorbikes and the two officers in the police car. The culprit was arrested and is said to have a hefty criminal record.
