Costa del Sol to fight against ‘wild’ hen and stag parties

COUNCILS in the Malaga province are considering changing regulations in order to deal with ‘wild’ hen and stag parties.

Authorities have said the events tend to see revellers unsuitably dressed – often with lewd messages – and are sexist in nature. Loud music, megaphones and drunkenness is also a public nuisance.

The PSOE party in Malaga city said they intend to change by-laws in order to give Local Police more powers to deal with raucous behaviour.

 Marbella’s social rights councillor, Victoria Morales, said women are “treated like objects” at these parties and the town hall is considering different ways of controlling “uncivilised and disruptive” partygoers.

Benalmadena and Torremolinos are also considering introducing strict regulations.

PSOE’s spokesman, Daniel Perez, said Malaga should adopt similar rules to those already in place in Granada, Madrid, Almeria and Cadiz.

Speaking of the upcoming Feria de Malaga. Perez said “you can’t have a quality fair when there are people wearing unsuitable clothing, using megaphones and behaving in an uncivilised manner.”

Elsewhere in Spain there have been difficulties with rowdy holidaymakers, such as a hen party that was kicked off a flight to Alicante for “acting like creatures.”
