AIRPORT security strikes could soon occur at Valencia and Alicante’s airports.
The Prosegur staff at Valencia airport have threatened to go on strike due to low salaries and cuts.
Alicante could also see strikes if agreements cannot be made during the upcoming meetings between the Ministry of Public Works and trade unions.
Fierce competition is believed to be the issue as security firms battle it out to offer the lowest prices and secure big money security and cleaning contracts.
The trade unions are directly accusing companies such as the Ralons Group who own Security Integral Canarias, naming them as catalysts for the financial ferocity that causes decreases in pay and poor working conditions.
Similar strikes have caused havoc at Barcelona El Prat airport and both tourists and commuters alike will be hoping that a solution can be found to this issue quickly.
