The seized RHIB and cases of cigarettes
IN the early hours of this morning (Tuesday) officers of the Gibraltar Customs Marine Section seized cigarettes with a retail value of £9,000.
The officers apprehended a 40-year-old Spanish national in a rigid-hulled inflatable boat (RHIB) just off Emerson’s place close to the Western end of the runway.
Nine cases of cigarettes and the RHIB were confiscated during the action and the alleged smuggler was arrested and released on bail to return on November 9.
