NATIONAL POLICE: ‘Terror attack’ stolen vans rumour circulating on the Costa del Sol is false

NATIONAL POLICE have confirmed that a rumour of several stolen vans being stolen to be used in a potential terror attack on the Costa del Sol is false.

The message, which has gone viral on Facebook, reads as follows:

“Police have just notified that here on the coast there has been three vans that have been stolen. Might be a terrorist attack.

Message from the police: 

“We have just been advised of 3 vans that have been stolen this morning along the coast, White Mercedes Sprinter reg 5332 HWB, Grey Mec van 2383HLG and White Merc Van M8929 YT, police are treating as possible terrorist and advising against being in packed areas.

“Marbella Torremolinos & Benalmadena have been listed as that’s where they were taken from – stay safe”

The National Police confirmed on Twitter that the story was false.

Police have urged users online to only trust information coming from official sources  to avoid hysteria following the terror attacks yesterday.
